Shark's Tooth. A fitting name for a course designed by one of the fiercest competitors on the PGA Tour, a hall-of-famer who is also one of the game's most respected architects. Greg Norman's unique combination of drive and charisma is legendary. His golf courses are home to not one, but two PGA tour events. Shark's Tooth is Norman's superlative layout for the only private signature golf club on Florida's Emerald Coast--a pristine parcel of land on the shores of the state's largest dune lake, featuring gentle hills, fairways framed by oaks, loblolly pines, and acres of preserved wetlands. Norman's dedication to the environment earned the course an Audubon Signature designation, one of only five in the state. Shark's Tooth will play to a par 72, with five holes lining Lake Powell's shore and a total distance of almost 7,200 yards from the back tees. That's over 7,000 yards of clear air, priceless memories and endless challenge.

Golf Professionals' Bios

 
Mike Pazakis - Head Golf Professional
Born and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Mike learned the great game of golf from his father and uncle. His first experience in the golf world was assisting with junior golf clinics at the local club. After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 1996, Mike moved to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He began working at Moss Creek Golf Club and entered the apprenticeship program for the PGA of America. Shortly thereafter, Mike was offered a position as an Assistant Golf Professional at the highly acclaimed Harbour Town Golf Links, site of the PGA Tour MCI Heritage of Golf Classic. There, Mike became very involved with the Hilton Head Island Junior Golf Association and was named Junior Golf Academy Director and then Tournament Director for the Association. In April 2003, Mike left harbour Town to work as the First Assistant Golf Professional at the exclusive nantucket Golf Club. Through his relationships with the members at Nantucket Golf Club, Mike was able to have the opportunity to work for golf legend Jack Nicklaus at the Bear's Club in Jupiter, Florida. After two seasons Mike got the call from John Johnson that the Head Golf Professional position at Shark's Tooth Golf Club was open. Mike says he feels very lucky and fortunate to be a part of Shark's Tooth.

Lee Moran - Assistant Golf Professional
Lee was born in Malden, Massachusetts in 1981 but moved to Kingston, Pennsylvania with his family at a young age. He developed a love for golf as a child and played in numerous junior tournaments as well as on his high school golf team.Lee started his education at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus majoring in education. There he played on the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Golf Team where his team won the North Eastern Pennsylvania Division II Championship. Lee was MVP for his golf team and also qualified for the state tournament where he finished 19th. Lee's 3.7 GPA coupled with his success on the golf team helped to get him accepted into the Penn State Professional Golf Management program his sophomore year. Lee graduated just a few years ago and upon graduating was medalist in his Player's Ability Test for the PGA. Lee completed his final intership for Penn State here at Shark's Tooth Golf Club in 2004 and later became first assistant in 2005. He was elected as a member of the PGA in May of 2006.

Guest Policy and Rates
 
Effective March 1, 2012
 
Accompanied Day Guests
  • No accompanied guest fee for immediate or extended family
  • Immediate family: is defined as a Member, his or her spouse and their unmarried children, under the age of 23 who are living at home, attending school on a fulltime basis or serving in the military, and the parents of a Member or his or her spouse.
  • Extended family: is defined as children who do not fall within the definition of immediate family, grandparents, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the Member and spouse and the spouses of such family members
  • Members will be charged a daily usage fee of $10 per guest that is not immediate or extended family
  • Accompanied guest fee will be waived for dining only
  • Members may bring a maximum of 15 guests per day
Unaccompanied House Guests
  • The daily fee is $20 (up to four guests) per person, per day 
  • The weekly fee is $100 (up to four guests)
  • Children age 3 and under will not be charged guest fees
  • A week is defined as up to seven consecutive days
  • Unaccompanied guests will be limited to 12 persons per membership, per day
  • Unaccompanied guests may be registered for a maximum of 2 consecutive weeks
  • Members must fill our the proper guest request form (available in the Club offices or on website) before sending house guests to the Club. Guests will not be provided access without the guest form signed by the member and received by the Club 48 hours before guests arrival
  • All guest fees will be charged directly to the guest's credit card

From time to time the club will restrict unaccompanied guest privileges. For the calendar year 2012, unaccompanied guest privileges will be suspended from July 6th thru July 8th.

 
WaterSound Beach Club is a cashless facility. Guests may use a credit card to settle any food and beverage charges. The sponsoring member is responsible for any unpaid charges made by his or her houseguest.
 
The sponsoring Member shall be responsible for the conduct of a houseguest while on the WaterSound Beach Club Facilities. If the manner, deportment, or appearand of any houseguest is deemed unsatisfactory, the sponsoring member shall, at the request of the Club Operator, cause such houseguest to surrender the guest card and leave the Club.
